General information

Multi Craft City & Guilds 6217The Introductory Certificate in Basic Construction Skills has been designed by City & Guilds to provide basic training in construction skills for those seeking employment in the construction industry. They are suitable for use with learners who have no previous experience or knowledge of the construction craft skills.

The qualification is aimed at providing an introduction to these crafts and they specifically provide an understanding of particular craft tasks, not occupational competence in the craft.

It is suitable for learners who do not have access to an NVQ, as it can contribute towards the knowledge and understanding required for the related NVQ, while not requiring or proving evidence of occupational competence.

Qualifications structure

  • Full award comprises of 8 units
  • Unit achievement and accreditation is available for learners
  • Attendance is flexible and agreed between thelearner and the school - Can be one day a week or more
