Business & Administration NVQ 2

Business & Administration NVQ 2Every Business needs effective administration. The Business and Administration NVQs are aimed at staff working in administration across all occupations and sectors of employment.

This versatile level 2 qualification is aimed at individuals who carry out a wide range of administrative tasks. The structure of the qualification is very flexible, as individuals will study 2 core units and may also select three optional units which best suit their work situation and job role. The employer can be reassured that individuals will be trained within the culture and ethos of the company whilst gaining a nationally recognised qualification.

To gain the full NVQ both mandatory units plus three optional units must be completed.

Mandatory units

  • Carry out your responsibilities at work
    • Communicating effectively,accepting responsibility for your own work and its delivery, improvingyour own performance and behaving in a way that encourages effective working.
  • Work within your business environment
    • Working effectively within your own organisation, supporting its purpose and values, applying employment rights andresponsibilities, respecting diversity andprotecting security and confidentiality.
Optional units
  • Ensure your own actions reduce risks to health and safety
  • Manage customer relations
  • Manage diary systems
  • Organise business travel and accommodation
  • Deal with visitors
  • Process customer financial transactions
  • Operate credit control procedures
  • Store, retrieve and archive information
  • Research and report information
  • Organise and support meetings
  • Use IT systems
  • Use IT to exchange information
  • Word processing software
  • Spreadsheet software
  • Presentation software
  • Specialist or bespoke software
  • Use a telephone system
  • Operate office equipment
  • Prepare text from notes
  • Prepare text from shorthand
  • Prepare text from recorded audio instructions
  • Produce documents
  • Work effectively with other people
