Ridgemond Training: Alternative Key Stage 4
Traditional, classroom type learning doesn’t suit everyone.
The alternative key stage 4 programme is a nationally recognised
scheme, designed for young people, aged 14 – 16 who respond
better to practical hands - on learning.
At Ridgemond we actively encourage and welcome learners from all
backgrounds and have an active policy to accept young offenders,
previously poor attendees and young people who have been excluded
from class.
The programme aims to support students as much as possible.
Learning is flexible and can take place between one and four days
a week.
This programme is a practical solution and has offered many young
people the chance to continue learning and gain proper skills
qualifications.
The course is a stepping stone to be accepted on the Ridgemond
Training apprenticeship courses that focus on the practical
elements of a job and provide real opportunities.
This programme currently has a success rate of 80% achievement
across all sectors; Ridgemond Training works with students to help
them achieve their best. If a student has any problem, we will work
with them to resolve it, whether this be fitting their timetable
around other priorities, helping them find transport or making sure
they are on a course that is right for them.
